Hi there, Bernie,
Thanks for swimming over to planDisney with your question!
You are arriving at Walt Disney World Resort at the perfect time to plunge into the Disney Water Parks. It sounds like you are ready to splash around during your visit, so let’s get right to it.
Bernie, if you would like to visit
Typhoon Lagoon and
Blizzard Beach, you will need to
purchase separate admission to each park. Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment at the moment, but both water parks should be gushing with ways to cool off during the summer months when you visit. When you purchase tickets on the website, you do not need to indicate which park you plan to visit since currently, you do not need to make a reservation to enter the water parks. The tickets you purchase will be valid at either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, whichever one is open or whichever one you choose.
Believe it or not, Bernie, one of my favorite places to dine is
Leaning Palms at Typhoon Lagoon. The menu and decor make me feel like I’m relaxing on a little paradise island, and the real gully washer is the Banana Pudding Milkshake! Just remember to ride
Crush ‘n’ Gusher before you stop for lunch. I’m also a fan of the Piña CoLAVA at
Lottawatta Lodge at Blizzard Beach. It’s a perfect way to kick back after racing down
Runoff Rapids.
Since Florida heat is in full swing in August, I also suggest you check out
Typhoon Lagoon Umbrellas or
Lodge Picnic Umbrellas at Blizzard Beach. Renting them ahead of your arrival will provide you with a spot to stay in the shade with no worries!
Bernie, I hope you have a kowabunga of a good time on your visit. Wade back over to planDisney if you have any other questions!
Wishing you fun in the sun!
Shannon
