    Do we need to get a passport for our two year-old? The dream will be making port calls in Nasseau and Disney Castaway Island.

    Welcome aboard, Megan! Congratulations on your upcoming sailing with Disney Cruise Line! Your family must be looking forward to all the magic you'll experience both onboard and in the ports of call! 

    U.S. citizens are not required to have passports for the Bahamian sailings. Adults will need to provide a government-issued photo I.D., like a driver's license, along with the original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate. Children under 16 can present the original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate when traveling with their parents. If you think you might do more international traveling in the near future, a passport is always a good idea, and is certainly recommended by Disney Cruise Line for all guests if possible. My family cruises with our passports so that we have the safety of knowing that in the unlikely event that we experienced an emergency in a foreign port like Nassau, we would more easily be able to fly back home.
