Ahoy Jessica!
So nice to "sea" you here at planDisney. I'd be happy to help sail you toward the right information.
I took a quick look at the
required documentation for US Citizens and see that round-trip cruises to the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Bermuda originating from
Port Canaveral require either an original valid US Passport or US Passport Card,
OR an original state-issued birth certificate
AND a Government-issued photo ID. There are stipulations for children under the age of 15, as well as differing ID requirements for US Legal Permanent Residents, Naturalized citizens, and citizens of non-US countries. I'd recommend carefully reviewing the
Passports, Visas & Citizenship Documentation page to ensure your documentation is appropriate for boarding and disembarking at your itinerary's ports of call. Keep in mind that this information is based on current government guidelines and may be subject to change.
One important tip is to make sure you maintain possession of your identification and any additional boarding paperwork when you arrive for your sailing. Don't pack these items in your luggage as porters will transport your checked bags to the ship and you won't have access to them again until they are delivered to your Stateroom. I like to keep my passport, camera, and swimsuit packed in a carry-on bag so I can quickly check in at the cruise terminal, snap some pictures, and then immediately change for fun on the pool deck once we've boarded the ship. We always try to get in a few pre-dinner rides on the
Aqua Duck when we sail on
Disney Dream and
Disney Fantasy as wait times are usually the lowest.
I hope this helps Jessica! Please don't hesitate to reach out to us again with any additional planning questions. If you need more clarification on your particular identification you can also contact a
Disney Cruise Line Cast Member by
phone for assistance.
Bon Voyage!
