Hello, do you need a passport to cruise to the Bahamas. Planning a trip for 2016. Can't wait very excited😁😊

    Welcome Aboard, Lauren!

For your Bahamian sailing, a passport is not required, but you will need a state-issued driver's license AND a birth certificate with a raised seal for each adult sailing and a birth certificate with a raised seal for each child sailing. But, if you have the time and the means, I would highly recommend getting passports for each member of your family. Our family always travels with passports, one of the most important benefits being if something unforeseen happens in a foreign country, we already have the necessary documentation to travel home from that country.

An adult passport is valid for ten years, while a child's is only good for five years. For us, this is money we are willing to spend. Also, by having our passports, we are ready to travel at the drop of a hat! You never know when a great cruise deal is going to come up that you would like to take advantage of!

I hope this helps with your planning and that you have a wonderful cruise to the Bahamas! Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with further cruise questions.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.

Walt Disney World was my very first vacation, when I was just 3 months old, and I recently completed my 73rd trip to a Disney location! I have been fortune enough to parasail high above the Disney Fantasy, attend opening day of Batuu, snorkel in the lagoon at Disney's Aulani, and SO MUCH MORE! I can't wait to help you plan your Disney vacation!
