Luis,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
No, you do not have to have theme park tickets to stay in a Disney Resort Hotel. While there are packages available that combine tickets and a room, you can book just a room and enjoy all the fun that these resorts have to offer!
When you look at the room types for any given resort, you will see options to book just a room, or a room as part of a ticket package. Just pick the first, and you are on your way.
But
what would you do at a Disney resort, if you are not going to the parks? So much!
ThemesThe resorts all carry unique themes that vary from whimsical to exotic. You could overlook the African savanna from your room at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Or you could drop right into the Cars movies at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort.
PoolsNext, there are the pools! From the sand-bottom entries at the
Stormalong Bay pool at
Disney's Beach Club Resort (and Yacht Club too!), to the giant pyramid at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, the pools each have their own amazing appeal. But all of the main pools have Disney Cast Members who entertain kids with activities and trivia.
FoodDon't even get me started with the food! From the lounges with delicious nibbles to haute cuisine options like
Victoria & Albert's, there is literally something for everyone. And there is always something new. I am already lining up to visit the
Cake Bake Shop when it opens at the BoardWalk!
Trust me, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I can share more, but hopefully this will convince you that a Disney resort stay is well worth it! Please feel free to
write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
