Do I need park tickets to eat at a reserved restaurant? Can I have magic kingdom tickets, yet reserve a meal in Epcot?

    Hi Josh,

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your great question about theme park dining. I am happy to help you with your question!  I see you will be visiting in the Spring which is an absolutely beautiful time of the year to visit.  Did you know that TRON Lightcycle / Run will be opening this April at Magic Kingdom?  I am excited for you to be one of the first Guests to see this new attraction!

As you may know, Guests must have a theme park ticket and a Theme Park Reservation in order to visit any of the Walt Disney World theme parks.  Guests wishing to visit another theme park on the same day must have the Park Hopper Option added to their tickets in order to go to a different theme park.  "Park Hopping" currently occurs after 2:00 PM and Guests must have first scanned into their first park in which they had theme park reservations.  So, in order for you to first visit Magic Kingdom and then have a meal in EPCOT, you must have the Park Hopper Option added to your tickets and have a dining reservation in EPCOT after 2:00 PM when Park Hopping starts.  Park Hopping is subject to availability, but EPCOT is such a large theme park that I have rarely seen it at capacity outside of a major holiday and it is one of my favorite theme parks to have a meal.

I hope this helps you with your vacation plans, Josh.  Please come back and visit us again with all of your vacation planning questions.  We are always excited to help you plan your next Magical visit!
