Do I need a park ticket plus an extra magic hour ticket to attend after hours at EPCOT?

    Howdy, Mary.

I'm always happy to rustle up an answer for a fellow Texan, so thanks for boot-scooting by planDisney today!

The Disney After Hours events I’ve attended in the past have been some of my favorite days I’ve ever had at Walt Disney World Resort, so I'm excited to hear you are interested in purchasing tickets to Disney After Hours at EPCOT. Your ticket gains you access to EPCOT for a special limited-capacity event after the park closes. The event doesn’t officially start until 10:00 p.m., but you can enter EPCOT starting at 7:00 p.m. to get a head start on all of the fun. You do not need to purchase theme park admission or make a Theme Park Reservation in addition to the Disney After Hours ticket to enter the park that evening. Your event ticket is all you need. However, you would need to purchase a theme park ticket if you wish to spend the day at EPCOT prior to your allotted 7:00 p.m. entry time for the event.

I highly recommend you arrive at EPCOT at 7:00 p.m. to take advantage of that extra time in the park prior to the event. I also recommend you explore the EPCOT guidemap prior to your visit to map out your plan of attack for the Disney After Hours portion of the evening. Typically, I find that starting at the back of the park, then working my way forward is the most efficient way to pack in as much magic as possible.

Mary, I hope this information proves helpful, but please stop by again if you need us to lasso up more answers for you. Have a magical day!

    Happy trails to you,
