Do I need a park ticket for the day we arrive at the campground, we are planing just to get set up and maybe go to the pool and the campfire?

It is quite common for guests to use their arrival day to unpack and unwind so that they can start their park touring fresh in the morning.

You only need theme park ticket for days that you'll actually be entering the theme parks. If you're going to be spending time outside the theme parks (enjoying the amenities at your resort, shopping at Downtown Disney, etc.), then you do not need to purchase a ticket for that day.

Have a wonderful trip to WDW!
