Will I need new Magic Bands for my visit, or can I use the ones I have? If so, are there directions on how to re-assign them to a new guest? Is the park still handing out cards for the day as another option? Thank you for your time.

    Hi Joseph,

I see that your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is just a little over a month away! SO EXCITING! I hope you're finding fun ways to count down the days until your trip begins. If you need a few ideas, my fellow Panelists and I shared some special ways we count down to our own trips that might spark your imagination.

I'm happy to let you know that yes, MagicBands are reusable! You'll simply want to make sure the ones you'd like to use are marked as Active within your My Disney Experience account. Do note, though, that their batteries only last a couple of years, so if they're a few years old or older, you might be missing out on some of their functionality, like capturing Disney PhotoPass photos on select attractions, for example. If you find that yours are no longer working properly, Hakuna Matata...no worries! I'd just encourage you to stop by a theme park ticket window, the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs, or the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel and a friendly Cast Member will gladly get you a card to use instead.

You also asked about reassigning MagicBands to another Guest. If you have brand new MagicBands that have never been linked to a Guest, you'll be able to link them to one of the Mouseketeers on your Family and Friends list here. Once a MagicBand has been linked to a Guest, though, it is no longer able to be reassigned.

Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Joseph, and please know you're welcome anytime! We're always here and happy to help. I hope you have a truly magical vacation this spring!
