Hiya, Vanessa.
Your magical
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is quickly approaching. Can you feel the excitement building? Soon you'll be standing in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A gazing upon the splendor of Cinderella Castle and enjoying all the
50th Anniversary Celebration has to offer.
MagicBands are handy-dandy waterproof wristbands with a touch point sensor inside that's linked to your
My Disney Experience account. You can use them to make charges to your Resort hotel room, pay for dining and souvenirs, link PhotoPass photos, unlock your Resort room's door and more. They're an all-in-one, convenient tool that makes vacationing at The Most Magical Place on Earth a breeze.
MagicBands come in several solid colors and a plethora of fun designs featuring Disney characters. They're available for purchase throughout Walt Disney World Resort, on
shopDisney, or from your account in My Disney Experience at a special pre-arrival price. While it's not required to have a MagicBand for your vacation, it certainly streamlines your experience and makes things a little easier. MagicBands will be upgrading to
MagicBand+ in 2022, so keep your eye out for this exciting new offering that's coming soon.
While MagicBands can be used to enter the four theme parks, they are not the only method of doing so. In lieu of a MagicBand, Guests can request a Key to the World card upon checking in at their
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. These complimentary cards are the same size and shape as a credit card. My fellow planDisney Panelist, Jane D.,
goes into great detail about all a Key to the World Card can do, but essentially it functions the same as a MagicBand.
You now also have the option to use your
My Disney Experience App and the
Disney MagicMobile service as a contactless method for many of the same functions of a MagicBand, like
unlocking your Resort hotel room door, entering a theme park and connecting your Disney PhotoPass photos to your account.
Please remember that you must have valid
theme park admission and
Park Pass reservations to be able to enter Walt Disney World Resort's theme parks with any of the methods I mentioned above. Be sure you've
linked your theme park tickets in your My Disney Experience account as well.
I hope this brought some clarity, Vanessa. If you have further questions, feel free to stop by planDisney again. We'd be happy to help!
Blessings,
Alyssa
