I need low sodium and low fat options. Where in disney dining have low sodium/low fat items

Welcome to planDisney, Michael! My family is dedicated to eating healthy, so I understand your concern about eating at so many restaurants during your Walt Disney World Resort visit. I think you'll be surprised what a little advanced research will uncover. Let's tie napkins 'round our necks and plan a strategy.

Current menu items are listed online and in your mobile app, so my first suggestion is to start there. If you've booked dining reservations, spend time perusing those menus to plan your orders. Look for dishes with seafood, lean meats, and veggies to keep calories and fat content low. My tip is to ask for all dressings and sauces on the side to up the healthy score of a dish.

One of my favorite low-fat quick-service options is at Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom Park. I order the salmon entree without the maple mustard glaze and opt for green beans over fries. Sprinkle on some extra pepper for a tasty kick and a filling meal.

I often choose buffets for table service since there are typically many items to choose from, including salads and vegetables. Tusker House Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park often has tofu on its buffet as a low-fat alternative.

You can ask at any dining location about low-sodium dishes. For example, I always ask for my Mickey Pretzel without the added salt. When eating a sit-down meal, let your server know about your dietary needs, and the chef might even visit your table to discuss details and options.

Please feel free to email the Special Diets team about your needs and concerns at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. The Special Dietary Requests page also has fabulous tips for dining at Disney.

Finally, you are welcome to bring your own food or have groceries delivered to your Disney Resort hotel. Review the allowable cooler sizes and prohibited items before packing a healthy and delicious lunch. I like to grab a picnic table behind Ye Old Christmas Shoppe at Magic Kingdom Park for snacking and relaxing. You can also rent a locker at every theme park entrance to enjoy your day unencumbered. Peanut butter and jelly is my go-to!

Michael, I hope I've pointed you in the right direction to review menus and make healthy choices on your upcoming visit. Cast Members are knowledgeable and helpful about guests' dietary needs, so please utilize them during your trip. Stop by planDisney anytime if you have questions!

    Magic awaits,
