Hi! Need help with travel. Have res. for Chef Mick on 12/16 at 7am. Want to park at MK (spending day there) and take monorail to CM. If it starts running 1 hr prior to park opening that is 7am. Is it 5min ride from MK to CM is it ok to b 5min late? Thx :)

    Hi Michelle,

I will gladly help with your question as it is one of my favorite things to do!

With all the Advance Dining Reservations, you have flexibility to arrive up to 30 minutes ahead of time for your reservation. In addition, you have a similar leeway after your reservation is scheduled to start. The restaurant will then do its best to accommodate your early or late arrival. Generally, this is not an issue.

The Magic Kingdom is the one park that I never recommend driving to and highly recommend taking Disney transportation. The main reason is that you need to park your car and then connect to either the monorail or ferryboat to get to the Magic Kingdom. You will probably need about 10-15 minutes to get from the Ticket and Transportation Center to the Contemporary. The monorail will then stop at the Polynesian Village Resort, Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Magic Kingdom prior to the Contemporary where Chef Mickey's is located.

You could also take the ferryboat and walk to the Contemporary which is a five minute walk. Another option is to park directly at the Contemporary for your breakfast. You can then park your car at the Magic Kingdom parking lot afterwards.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
