I need to go from Epcot to the studios. Is it faster to take a direct bus or take the boat to beach club and then studios? BTW, I love your site.

There are really five ways you could get from Epcot to Disney's Hollywood Studios:

    1. Take a cab. This would cost in the neighborhood of $10-15, but it would likely be the fastest way because you're neither waiting for Disney transportation or parking yourself.
    2. Drive yourself. (Obviously only if you have a car). It's a quick 5-ish minute drive, but it will take a while to find your car at Epcot, then re-park at DHS, then walk to the DHS gate.
    3. Walk. Exit Epcot from the International Gateway located between England and France in the World Showcase. Go up the path until you can bear left around the Boardwalk. Keep following the path until you get to DHS. It's about a mile and a half away -- maybe half an hour depending on your pace.
    4. Take the boat. Also exit from the International Gateway. The boat dock is on the left just as you exit the park. The ride itself is about 15-18 minutes, but you have to factor in the wait for the boat.
    5. Take the bus. Exit from the front entrance of the park. The bus ride takes about 7-10 minutes, but again, you have to figure in the wait for the transportation to arrive.

Which form of Disney transportation actually ends up being faster for you is greatly impacted by where you are in Epcot when you want to leave. If you're in Future World, the bus will be the fasted way. If you're deep in the World Showcase, the boat will be faster, even though the bus ride itself would be a bit shorter. The walk from the World Showcase to the main gate could easily add 15-20 minutes to your travel time.
