Hi Dave,
I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney. I'd be happy to help you sort out your family's travel plans to
Magic Kingdom Park. Whether you're looking to spend a nostalgic day in Fantasyland or plan to conquer thrill rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, you'll be sure to discover plenty of magic and adventure as soon as you step foot on Main Street, U.S.A.
If you'll be driving a personal vehicle you'll be directed to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). From there you'll be able to board a
Ferryboat or
Express Monorail to the front gates of Magic Kingdom Park. Be sure to download the My Disney Experience mobile app and use the
Car Locator feature to help keep track of where you parked. At this time, standard car parking is available for $25 per day but is complimentary for all resort guests. If you won't be joining your family for the day, you may also drop them off in the designated area at the Transportation & Ticket Center. Just let a Cast Member know you are intending to drop off or pick up when you arrive and they will direct you to the appropriate area where rideshare services and taxis will also be located.
I'd also like to mention that complimentary
bus service is available to guests staying at
Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Guests can board a bus near their resort lobby and travel to any of the four Disney Theme Parks, Water Parks, and Disney Springs. At Magic Kingdom Park, the bus drop-off area is just a short walk from the main entrance, allowing guests to bypass a stop at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Estimated bus departure times can also be found in the My Disney Experience App.
I hope your family has a wonderful visit to the most magical place on earth!
Amy C.
