Do you need to have a credit card to stay at the Disney Resorts if accommodation is paid for upfront

    Hi Laura!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your trip planning question. We love to help!

I'm excited to hear that you are planning to visit Walt Disney World and experience one of the incredible resorts as well. Each resort is wonderfully themed and unique. The most difficult decision of your vacation may be deciding which of the resorts to stay at!

If your vacation is paid in full before you arrive at Walt Disney World, you will not need a credit card at your resort. You can decline to link a credit card during the Online Resort Check-in process in My Disney Experience. However, without a credit card on file, you will not be able to use room charging privileges via your MagicBand. This means that you'll need to pay for items like snacks, souvenirs, or meals with cash or a Disney Gift card.

Alternatively, you can also link a credit card to your resort reservation, but then elect to turn off or limit charging on some or all of your MagicBands. This is a great option if you have children who do not have the ability to charge.

I hope you have a magical vacation! Be sure to let us know if we can help with any additional details!
