I need to change the name of the person on Disneyland park ticket. My husband has to cancel so I’m bringing a friend instead. His name is on the ticket

Hello there, Elizabeth! Welcome to planDisney. We love helping Guests get the answers to their planning questions and I'm happy to help you today.

I'm so sorry to hear that your husband can no longer make your upcoming visit to Disneyland Resort, but at least you've found a friend. That's a much better plan B than having to cancel your visit altogether. I'm happy to share if you have a standard theme park ticket, you actually don't have to change the name if you don't want to. Assigning a name to the ticket in the Disneyland app really is more just for you the Guest to differentiate tickets linked to your account. A ticket is officially linked to a Guest when they scan their ticket for the first time at the gate. A Cast Member will take a photo of the Guest and this is what assigns a Guest to a ticket. If you still want the name updated on the ticket, simply call Ticket Services or chat with a Cast Member in the Disneyland app. The Guest with the Disney account who purchased the tickets will be able to ask for a name change.

You will get to take in all the sights and sounds of the holidays all throughout the resort. Between the entertainment, sweet treats, and attraction overlays, you are sure to have a magical time on your visit.

Elizabeth, thanks so much for stopping by! Please come back and visit us again with any other planning questions!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
