Hi Melody,
Welcome to planDisney! Disney World has done a great job revamping the services offered to guests with disabilities over the last few years. They just released a
comprehensive guide that I think is super helpful to review before your trip. It will help you to navigate queues, get access to medical services, and use a mobility device during your visit.
If you use a stroller as a wheelchair while visiting Disney World, you will need to make a stop at
Guest Services as soon as you enter the theme park to get a tag issued for your stroller that will designate it a "Stroller as a Wheelchair." This designation will allow your daughter to remain in her stroller in the attraction queues. If you bring your stroller, it must be no larger than 31"x 52".
Wagons are no longer permitted at Disney World. Guest Services will not ask for any specific paperwork but you will need to be able to explain that your child has a disability and uses their stroller instead of a traditional wheelchair or needs it as a way to transport their medical equipment into the queues. If you have any concerns about whether or not you qualify, I would contact Disability.Services@disneyparks.com before your visit to confirm that you will be able to qualify.
One of the most helpful things for my family at Disney World are the
Companion Restrooms located throughout the theme parks. These restrooms make it easy for you or your partner to take your child or children into a single restroom that is gender-neutral for changing diapers or any other assistance needed. You can wheel your stroller right in!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
