Ahoy there, Gary!
I’m glad you sailed by planDisney with your question. We want to make sure you make it to the ball, I mean formal night, on your Disney Cruise Line vacation feeling like a prince.
I see that you will be sailing on the
Disney Fantasy for one of the
Silver Anniversary at Sea cruises. How exciting to help Disney Cruise Line celebrate 25 years at sea! It looks like your 7-night cruise will include not one, but two nights of fireworks, including the Silver Anniversary Fireworks at Sea in addition to Pirate Night fireworks. And there will be other limited-time entertainment on board! Captains Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse all dressed up in their spectacularly shimmery anniversary attire certainly could make anyone feel underdressed. But we don’t want that, so let’s talk about your attire options, Gary.
While not required at the Formal Night dinner or at the adult-exclusive and luxurious
Palo or
Remy, you may certainly wear a tuxedo. I often see most Guests choose a less formal option of a suit or jacket and tie for men and dresses or nice pants for women. So, know that “formal” on a Disney cruise is a flexible term. In fact, dress casual attire with a refined look is permitted (such as jeans in good condition, collared shirts and lifestyle shoes). Clothing such as T-shirts, swimwear and sports attire is not permitted at Palo or Remy.
If you would like to opt for the true formal tuxedo look, I’m sad to report that the company that previously offer tuxedo rentals for cruise Guests is no longer in business. Since you depart from Port Canaveral, I suggest a quick internet search for a nearby formal wear shop. If you will be in Orlando before and after your cruise, try a search for Orlando-area formal wear shops since you may discover more options to choose from. Now, since you are a party of 10, I’m wondering if you might be attending a wedding, which is an extra special occasion! If that is the case, the couple celebrating their marriage may have a recommendation for you.
Of course, you could add a tuxedo to
your packing list or you could opt for a little less formal look. Either way, you will shine in your cruise photos because everyone looks amazing on vacation, especially when a
Disney Cruise Line professional photographer is behind the camera!
