Welcome to planDisney, Michelle!
It sounds like you need that ECV scooter Lightning McQueen fast! I'm thrilled you found us while getting ready to ride into your next adventure at the Disneyland Resort.
Renting a wheelchair or ECV (Electric Convenience Vehicle) scooter is a great option for many guests. You can easily rent one right outside the theme park entrance. The rental location is just east of the Disneyland Park Main Entrance. Just a heads up, Michelle: they can't be reserved in advance, so arriving early is best. I suggest arriving about 30 minutes before the parks open, which is 8:00 AM on July 31st.
When you rent a manual wheelchair or an ECV, you make a $20 deposit on top of the rental fee. At the time that I am writing this, manual wheelchairs can be rented for $15 per day, and ECV rental is $60 per day. But Michelle, just remember that prices can change at any time.
And Michelle, have you heard of that sprinkle of pixie dust called the Disability Access Service (DAS)? It could be very helpful. DAS makes it easier for guests with special needs to navigate the parks faster than McQueen can say “Ka-chow!”
Since you’ll be visiting this week, it’s best to request these services in-person at an Accessibility Services Kiosk during your visit. The amazing Cast Members there will work with you to discuss any specific requests and offer assistance.
To make your visit even smoother, here’s what you need to do before speaking with a Cast Member:
I hope these tips help you prepare for a smooth visit to the Happiest Place On Earth, Michelle! I'm as excited as you are for your visit in just a few short days - the countdown is on! Feel free to message me directly for a quicker response.
