Hey Howdy Hey Cyndi,
It is great to see you back at planDisney. I love that you are considering a solo trip to
Walt Disney World Resort. I also travel for work and whenever I have the chance, I love popping over to visit Mickey Mouse and his pals.
A solo trip will give you the opportunity to explore the theme parks and
Disney Resorts Collection hotels at your own pace. Do you have an attraction or event that you just love but never get to spend enough time enjoying? A solo trip is the perfect time to ride Splash Mountain all day long if that is what you want to do. I always discover so many hidden areas or small details when I travel alone as I am not focused on keeping up with my family and can slow down and look at the gorgeous landscaping or read all the windows on Main Street U.S.A. And, you are free to change your plans as often as you like and do not need to consult with anyone else. Were you headed for Space Mountain but suddenly have a desire to sit next to Cinderella Castle and enjoy some popcorn? Guess what - you can do that without disappointing anyone.
Choosing a
Backstage Tour, is a perfect activity for a solo visit. There are numerous to choose from but one of my favorites is
Behind the Seeds which is located at EPCOT and will give you an up-close view of the amazing fish farm and greenhouses inside The Land. The tour takes about an hour and is perfect for anyone interested in gardening. However, if you are looking for my top suggestion - my absolute favorite tour is
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour which takes place at
Magic Kingdom. The tour takes about five hours and provides Guests with a look at the history behind Magic Kingdom as well as a peak at some hidden areas typically off-limits including the famous utilidors. I have been lucky enough to take part in this tour a few times, and always find it fascinating and tons of fun.
A few things to remember on the tours, theme park admission is typically required, and not included in the price of the tour.
Advance reservations are always recommended as most of the tours fill up quickly and last minute spots are generally not available. Be sure to dress comfortably as most of the tours involve a good deal of walking.
I hope this helps you plan the perfect solo trip. One last thought, if you have the chance, be sure to visit
Walt Disney Presents at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. You will be able to take a look at Walt Disney's life and legacy through tons of rare photos and memorabilia. I have spent hours wandering the cases. If I can help with any additional planning questions, please stop back and
see me.
Hope to see ya real soon,
Margaret
