Hi Greg,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your question to us. Let's get down to business!
The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app works on mobile devices like
smartphones and tablets that run on Android operating systems or Apple IOS. While a tablet will certainly work, I'm not sure about using it on a traditional laptop. I just did a quick search in the Apple App Store and the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app does not appear available.
You can complete your Online Check-In on your laptop using the Disney Cruise Line website under the
Already Booked tab. On embarkation day, when you arrive at the port terminal, I don't recommend using a laptop to complete the in-person check-in, though I've seen other Guests use a tablet or iPad. You will likely have your hands full of other items and, depending on your port of departure, there may not be a convenient place to use your computer while checking in. To make things easier, perhaps you could print out your
Port Arrival Form before leaving home. I often use a printed copy instead of an electronic version.
To use your electronic devices to send iMessage or WhatsApp messages, you can connect to the ship's complimentary Wi-Fi. If you
plan to use an internet package during your cruise, you will need to purchase one of three options using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app (by selecting "Connect to Internet"). Once you are connected, you can log in to the internet using your laptop. Keep in mind that the package price is per device, so you will log out of one device in order to log in using another. If you have any trouble, stop by the
Guest Services desk and they will assist you.
I hope this information is what you need, Greg. Please let us know if you need more information or if you have other questions; we are happy to help!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
