Hi Nancy! We are taking the Alaska cruise in June. I have no idea what to pack! Weather? Do people swim? Is there a formal night that we need to dress up, or maybe even more than one? HELP! Thanks in advance!

    Ahoy Lori!
Welcome back to the Moms Panel!  Packing for a cruise to Alaska can be a little tricky because you will experience lots of different types of weather on  your vacation.  My best advice from my own personal experience is to layer up so you can take off or put on for the variety of temperatures you may encounter. You can expect highs in the 70s or 60s and lows in the upper 40s to 50s so you will want to check out the 10 day forecast online before you finalize the packing.  You also want to think comfortable and waterproof because you will be walking a lot and rain is very common in Alaska.  I brought comfortable hiking boots, jeans, a hooded jacket, turtlenecks, long sleeve t-shirts and vests for the day time.  For night time, you will want to plan for one formal and one semi-formal night. You can dress as fancy as you like, but a cocktail dress or nice pants outfit is fine for you.  A button-down with or without a sports coat and tie and nice slacks will work for your boys! Swimsuits are a must because once the temperature drops below 75 degrees, the pools will be heated.  It is nice to enjoy a dip in the pool or whirlpool on one of the sea days or after returning from your time ashore.
As for packing,  I suggest rolling your clothes when you start to pack because bringing lots of layers will full up your suitcase very quickly.  There are laundry facilities on the Wonder as well as laundry services provided by the crew if you need to wash or dry clean anything during your vacation.
Good luck with your packing, Lori!  You are going to have such an amazing time on your Alaskan adventure!
