Hi Nancy. I'm a first time "cruiser" and a micro-planner! Can you tell me what I do FIRST when I board the cruise. I'll be going on May 19 with my 2 kids we are taking the new Fantasy DCL.

    Hi Susan!

Thanks for writing back!  I have a tendency to be a "micro-planner" as well!  I have definitely gotten a bit more relaxed with many cruises under by belt, but I always love having an agenda!  When you check-in, you will receive your daily cruise newsletter, The Personal Navigator!  This guide will come in handy for a planner like you!  I carry mine around with me everywhere I go because I constantly check it so my crew doesn't miss a thing!

The first thing we do upon boarding is EAT!  We either head to the Enchanted Garden (Deck Two) or up to Cabanas (Deck 11).  They both offer a delicious buffet.  After we eat, my kiddos like to swim and ride the AquaDuck.  I always make sure I have their swimsuits and sunscreen in my carry-on. After our swim, our stateroom is usually ready.  We quickly change our clothes and love to explore the ship.  A walking ship tour is offered by the cruise staff and is a great way to hear about the amazing areas that make up the Fantasy.  We always head to the youth areas during their Open House.  We check out the facilities as a family and pick up our Mickey bands (for ages 3-12).   The Lifeboat Drill is around 3:45 and is mandatory for all Guests.  Your Muster Station number will be located on the back of your stateroom door along with directions on how to get there.  After the Lifeboat Drill, it is time to head back up to the pool deck for a Sail Away Celebration!

I hope my suggestions help with your planning. Again, your Personal Navigator is so helpful and informative.  My kids like to bring along highlighters so we can mark the events we don't want to miss.

Please let me know if you have any further questions!

    Have a great day!

    Nancy
