Aloha, Sharon!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you're here! Your crew of Mouseketeers is in for a world of fun, fantasy, magic, and memories on your upcoming vacation. I love that this is a grandmas and granddaughters trip! Your grandgirls will never forget this experience or that you two made their dreams come true. I think it's safe to say you're the grooviest grandma around!
Disney's Pop Century Resort is a far out choice for your home away from home. My husband and I stay there pretty much every time we visit Walt Disney World Resort and think it's the bee's knees. We really enjoy the decor that pays homage to past decades in the lobby. You'll be able to get to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios from your Resort in a jiffy thanks to the convenient on-site access to the
Disney Skyliner, and having quick access makes taking a midday break before park hopping a literal breeze.
Visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth in May means you will be here during one of my favorite annual events, the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. EPCOT is never more beautiful than when it's in full bloom with gardens galore! Your granddaughter will love searching for topiaries of her favorite Disney characters, and everyone will enjoy the sips, sweets, and eats at the Outdoor Kitchens. You have to try the Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade at the Pineapple Promenade if it returns to the Festival this year! It's my all-time favorite Walt Disney World Resort treat.
Speaking of treats, I'm glad to hear you want to entertain your tastebuds will the flavorful culinary creations at
'Ohana. My husband and I just ate there last week for the first time in two years, and let me tell you, it was heaven! 'Ohana is located at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, which is just across the Seven Seas Lagoon from Magic Kingdom Park. I suggest you book a dining reservation at 'Ohana on one of the days you plan to be at Magic Kingdom Park, because it's a short monorail ride away and will be easy to get to from there. You could park hop over to Magic Kingdom after being at another park that morning and have an early dinner around 3:30 p.m. before heading into the park for the night, or you could plan to have a late dinner after you leave Magic Kingdom Park for the evening.
Because 'Ohana is one of the most popular restaurants on property, sometimes availability is hard to find, so be flexible. Remember, as a Resort Guest, you're able to
make dining reservations for the length of your stay (up to 10 days) 60 days prior to your Resort check-in date. I suggest you are up, logged into your
My Disney Experience account, and ready to go right at 5:45 a.m. when reservations open up that morning. I would go ahead and link an active credit card to your account ahead of time to streamline the process, and I suggest trying to book 'Ohana first thing.
Sharon, I'm crossing my fingers you're successful in your endeavor to eat at 'Ohana, but I just know your crew of Disney Princesses will have a wonderful trip making core memories together no matter what! Please stop back by planDisney if you have further questions. We'd be happy to help!
Tomorrow is just a dream away,
Alyssa
