Hi, my name is Carrie and I have a quick question concerning Disney cruises. What is the best dinner seating time ? I have a 17 y/o son and a 6 y/o son and am torn between the two options. One is kinda early and the other pretty late. Any opinions ?

    Hi Carrie!

Since dining is one of my favorite parts of cruising, I think long and hard before I choose main or late seating.  I want to enjoy each restaurant to its fullest, and whether you eat early or late can have an impact on your overall experience.

I would choose late seating for your family.  Since there are so many delicious food options onboard, grab a late afternoon snack to hold you over each night.  Don't worry at all about being hungry while cruising!  After a fun filled afternoon, it is nice not to feel rushed while getting ready for the show and dinner.  Second seating guests do have the option to attend the first show each night which is usually around 6:15.

If you don't think your six year old can make it through the later dinner, Disney Cruise Line has a "Dine & Play" option for second seating Guests. When you arrive in  the dining room, let your servers know that your son will be participating in this program, and they will have him served within the first 45 minutes.  The youth counselors will stop by around the 45 minute mark to pick up any registered children to join them in the Oceaneer Club & Lab.

I hope this helps you make your decision.  My family does not usually eat late at home but while cruising we are a bit more flexible so we can enjoy every minute onboard!

    Have a fantastic day!
