Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Alicia!
You’re less than 60 days away from your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth at the most magical time of the year. I’m so happy you’ll get to experience one of my favorite
Walt Disney World Resort annual events:
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
While you probably won’t find a brochure online prior to that first Party, a quick web search should show you brochures from years past so you can get a general idea of what to expect. If this is your first time attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, know that the fun officially kicks off at 7 p.m., but you can usually enter
Magic Kingdom Park beginning at 4 p.m. You’ll want to make sure you wear your special wristband at all times that will designate you as a Partygoer, and I’d recommend grabbing that as soon as you arrive.
Based on my experience, here are a few tips to help you make the most out of one of the most magical Parties on the planet. First of all, schedule those
dining reservations before the Party officially begins. I would recommend a lighter dinner since you’ll want to save room in your tummies for the tasty treats you’ll encounter throughout the Park. Some of these (like sno-cones and snowman-shaped pretzels) are included with your admission. But you’ll also find limited edition treats you can purchase, too.
Secondly, if you have your heart set on meeting a particular
Character, I would try to do that at the beginning of the evening. Although the lines for most of your favorite attractions will typically be lower during the Party, those lines for Characters can be a little longer. My personal favorite is meeting all Seven Dwarfs! Last year they were located in Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Fantasyland.
Thirdly, try to catch the later performances of the Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration stage show and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. The crowds tend to be a little lower for the second round. You’ll definitely want to make sure you catch Elsa light up Cinderella Castle during A Frozen Holiday Wish, and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show (new this year), too! Make sure you also spend some time on Main Street, U.S.A. so you can catch the snow falling--it is “sNoW” much fun.
I hope you enjoy your visit to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Alicia! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
