Hi my mum and I are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge in Sept 2019. We are interested in the Starlight Safari at AKL but mum walks with a stick. How accessible are the safari vehicles? Many thanks Sue

    Hi Susan!

Thanks for sending us your question about this spectacular safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! My mom also uses a walking cane and I am also concerned about the activities she can and cannot do. Unless you believe your mom's condition will be seriously aggravated by the vehicle in motion, I honestly do not think your mom will have a problem at all.

The Starlight Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a one-hour safari tour that takes place inside a vehicle, where your mom will feel the rush of night air from her seat, scanning the horizon with her special night vision device for over 30 species of African wildlife! She'll be totally astounded by what she'll see: zebras, giraffes, gazelles, wildebeest and antelopes, flamingos, ostriches and over twenty other exotic African species that freely roam across the savannas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Remember that check-in will take place at the podium of Sanaa restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. Be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour. Do not forget to bring a valid photo ID for check in. I am sure your mom will be more than fine!

I hope this information is helpful, Susan. Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions; Disney is our passion and we love to help!

    See ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
