Hello MP, Have DX DDP, 4 ad/4 ch. Tried to pick kid friendly meals (CM-7, fun, noisy- WC, 'Ohana, Trex, Sci-fi) DGS 5 is hyper. plan on bringing magic ink books- and need more ideas- to help keep him busy till food appears at some of the "boring"

I think that dollar stores are a great source of trinkets like this. They very often sell Disney merchandise, from figurines to yo-yos. I always bought little things like that to keep my girls quiet and busy on airplanes, in restaurants, and in lines. A few that they loved: silly putty, word searches, one piece puzzles (made from wooden or metal parts, no loose pieces), glow sticks, and figurines.  Now that they are readers, a good book is their distraction of choice.

The best thing, though, for keeping a noisy child quiet in public is an electronic device with headphones. Be it a handheld video game system, a cell phone with games, or an ipod with a movie on it, this is a trick that works! Just be sure to remember the headphones so your fellow diners aren't disrupted.

    Have a great vacation!
