We have just moved to the US from Europe and are excited to see our country represented at Epcot! Does the storyteller speak Norwegian? We are bringing our grandparents and it would be great to see how proud they are hearing our language in our stories

    Hei Gronnsaker,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m super excited to discuss EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays and your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. This particular festival is my absolute favorite one, so much so that I got to talk about it this year for planDisney for our official podcast (see below). The Storytellers are always some of the best parts of the festival, in my opinion. Learning about different cultures is a special kind of magic, and the tale of Barn Santa is one of my favorites.

Sigrid’s encounter with the Mischievous Magical Barn Santa is primarily told in English, but there is a pixie dusting of Norwegian language throughout the tale, including the singing of the Mouse Song! Many of the Cast Members who work in EPCOT’s World Showcase are also from the country whose pavilion they work at, so more than likely, Sigrid and Barn Santa are also from Norway.

Gronnsaker, I hope you and your grandparents enjoy hearing your culture’s story shared at EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays. I also hope that seeing Guests from other parts of the world get to learn about a story so near and dear to your hearts fills you all up with holiday magic. If you need anything else, please come back and see us.

As I learned from Barn Santa, “God Jul” and Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.

I am so excited that you are planning a trip, and I look forward to helping you dig a little deeper and find the magic in all of the wonders of Walt Disney World Resort. Learn More About Ashley
