Hi Nicole, and a warm welcome to planDisney. All of us send our heartfelt condolences for the loss of your mother. And we’d be honored to help you with the trip you’re planning in her memory.
I chatted with a Cast Member, and unfortunately, they confirmed that an urn with ashes would not be allowed on Disney World property, even if it’s a small one. However, I can share some ideas for other ways to honor your mother during your next trip to Disney World.
Perhaps you can create a new tradition around something your mom loved. For instance, if she was into baking,
learn to decorate a Mickey dome cake at Amorette’s Patisserie. Or if she was an animal lover, go behind the scenes on
Wild Africa Trek or the
Caring for Giants tour.
Another idea is to plant something in her memory. There are a couple of kiosks that sell plants and Disney-inspired topiaries during the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. And you can also typically find little plants for sale year-round in the Land Pavilion. These are really cool because they were grown from tissue culture right in the lab you see on the
Living with the Land ride!
And finally, you might want to bring something that reminds you of your mother, or an item that was meaningful to her. If you’d like to get some pictures to remember your special trip, there are
PhotoPass photographers around the theme parks. While you can purchase
Memory Maker to get access to their professional photos, Cast Members are always happy to take pictures with your phone or camera as well.
I’m wishing you peace and comfort as you plan your upcoming trip. Please don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney if you have any questions. We’re always here for you!
