My mother owns a condo in Clearwater. We all live in KY, but visit every month. Does she qualify for Disney local discount tickets? If so, can she purchase them for us as well? Thanks!

    Hi Mason! Welcome to planDisney!

Your mother is a lucky lady for living so close to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I bet you love joining her in the Sunshine State and taking her on Walt Disney World Resort vacations with you and your family! To celebrate your family tradition of heading down to see her in Florida, you and your party might think about booking a Capture Your Moment photo session at one of the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks! You can book these 20-minute photo sessions right online up to 60 days prior to your arrival and take home magical memories that will last a lifetime.

For a Guest of Walt Disney World Resort to be able to purchase a Florida Resident Theme Park Ticket, they will need to provide proof of their Florida residency.  Proof of residency can come in the form of a valid Florida driver's license with a Florida address, a Florida state-issued ID card with a Florida address or a Florida-based military ID.  If your mother has any of these she'll quickly and easily be able to verify her residence online, allowing her to skip the process of proving her residency at the Park gates.

If she does not have one of the IDs listed above she can still verify her status as a Florida resident by showing a current picture ID and a piece of mail with her name and a Florida address.  This mail could be in the form of a monthly mortgage statement, a homeowner's insurance policy, a current utility bill or car registration, or even a piece of mail from a financial institution or the government.  You can find these and other accepted forms of proof of residency here on the Walt Disney World website.

Guests under the age of 18 are not required to show proof of Florida residency to use a Florida Resident Ticket, so if you have little ones and she would like to purchase their Theme Park Tickets she will be able to.  Unfortunately, you (and I!) as residents of other states, are not able to use Florida Resident Tickets, even if they were purchased by a Florida resident if we cannot also show proof.

Hope to see ya real soon, Mason!
