Oh boy, Shannon!
As an expecting mama myself, I couldn't resist your question about recreating the magic of
Tenaya Stone Spa at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. So I booked a Mother-to-Be Massage for myself this afternoon. I may not be a
Rescue Ranger, but I like solving a mystery the old-fashioned way: by going undercover.
Now Shannon, I would never pretend to be an expert on recreating the celestial comforts of Tenaya without having experienced them for myself. No, ma'am. That's simply not how we do things here at planDisney. I mean, who'd want advice from someone who's never savored Royal Cookies in a Relaxation Lounge, snuggled up with a warm neck pillow before transitioning into an other-worldly Treatment Suite serenaded by the soothing sounds of nature? Definitely not you, I'm sure. You need someone who gets it.
Shannon, those plush, luxurious head and body pillows will never leave my mind. I asked my phenomenal massage therapist what brand the pillows are. Sadly, they are unavailable in the Spa's gift shop. But here's the twist – those cozy pillows don't have tags, and it seems they were purchased over two years ago from a now unavailable vendor. However, my trusty therapist promised to find the information that we needed, even if it meant me returning to the Relaxation Lounge for several hours. Sometimes, even visiting the Steam Room. Ultimately, the Spa's Cast Members agree that the company that manufactures these pillows is most likely Sobel Westex.
A quick Google search shows that Sobel Westex offers a range of pillows, including options for side sleepers. Even better, the Disney Hotel and Home Collections items are now on sale. Now, all that's left is dropping a subtle hint to my husband for a Christmas gift idea!
Shannon, if you have any more ideas for me to go undercover for you at the Disneyland Resort,
come on back and just say the word. I'll be waiting. I'm always up for sharing
my favorite tips.
You've got a friend in me,
Danielle
