Hi Chantal,
Welcome back to planDisney! We’re happy to help with your planning questions as you prepare for your vacation!
Chantal, if your mother-in-law has assigned the tickets to each person, you should be able to book any dining reservations or purchase Lightning Lanes for your trip. You must be connected through your
Family & Friends List for your mother-in-law to assign a ticket to your account. To connect, log in to your My Disney account and visit “My Family & Friends.” Click “+ Add a Guest” and you can search for your mother-in-law with her name and phone number or e-mail associated with her My Disney account. She will receive an e-mail asking if she’d like to share plans with you. Once she accepts, you will be connected. Each guest in your travel party must be connected through the Family & Friends List.
To assign tickets, your mother-in-law should go to “My Plans” and scroll down to “My Plans, Reservations and Tickets.” Under “Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker,” find the ticket and click “Reassign Ticket.” She can then assign the ticket to anyone from her Family & Friends List.
When you
make your dining reservations up to 60 days in advance of your trip, you can modify the guests on the reservation to include anyone from your Family & Friends List. During the purchase of your
Lightning Lane passes, you’ll select who is included in your purchase. You will only be able to purchase for guests on your Family & Friends List that have valid theme park admission and are eligible to purchase. I recommend making sure tickets are assigned before your Lightning Lane purchase window opens because Lightning Lane selections are only held for 5 minutes before you check out.
I hope this helped, Chantal! My family likes to have one person in charge of all the bookings and reservations, but the group discussions about our goals and must-dos are an exciting part of vacation planning! If you have any more questions, you know where to find us at
planDisney!
