    3 months to Fantasy Cruise! BBB Pirate package selected Empress dress for 5 1/2 y/o. Do sizes run true or should I go up a size so she can wear for a while? Or can we decide once there in case size seems too small? Or can girl order the boy pirate outfit?

    Hi Michelle! Welcome aboard! The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is one of my favorite new additions to Disney Cruise Line, and my daughter got the chance to try it out a few months ago. She thought it was the best part of the cruise! I'm sure your daughter will be delighted with her experience there as well.

    Since our daughters are about the same age, I can tell you about my daughter's dress size and hopefully that will give you an idea for your own. My little princess had just turned 6 when she had her princess makeover, but wears a size 7 because she's tall. We selected the Snow White dress in Medium (7-8), and it fit her very nicely, but because it's not super-fitted, she still has plenty of room to grow with this dress for at least another year. 

    Once you're there, if you find the size isn't quite right, they may have a few extras to choose from, but they may not, so I'd do your best to choose the size ahead of time that you think will be best. If your daughter would like a boy's pirate outfit, I say why not! Let her choose what she likes.

    I will tell you that the pants on the boys outfits are short, and I believe they are supposed to be somewhat short to begin with. My son got transformed into a pirate on the Fantasy in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique when it became Pirate's League on Pirate Night. But, this mom washed the pirate pants at home and they shrank up a bit too far! Whoops! So, keep that in mind.
