Which months and days of the week are the parks the busiest?

    Shannon,

Thanks for your question to planDisney!

There are a few general rules to follow when it comes to how busy it is at Walt Disney World.

    • The School Rule: If school is in session, the parks tend to be lighter. If school is out, the crowds get larger. So Summer months, as well as the Thanksgiving and the Christmas-to-New Year holiday seasons are extremely busy.
    • Weekdays are for EPCOT: EPCOT hosts several festivals throughout the year. It is not just the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival where they break out all the fun food and drink stands from around the world. Because of that, locals flock to EPCOT on the weekends, so it tends to be more crowded from Friday through Sunday.
    • Jersey Shore is actually in Florida: Every fall the teachers in New Jersey have a convention that leads schools throughout the state to be closed. Seemingly everyone in the state relocates to Orlando, thus making that week, typically in early November, a pretty busy affair. Fuhgeddaboudit!
    • Happy Holidays, part 2: It is not just Thanksgiving and Christmas that pack in holiday crowds. Shorter three day weekend holidays like President's Day and Easter break can also lead to busier crowds.
The bottom line is, if the kiddos are in school, the crowds are good. If they are out of school, you may be out of luck!

It looks like you are going to visit in early April, which should be a relatively lower crowd season, so good for you! I hope that this helps? Write me back if you have any questions?
