Hi Monica,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of my favorite events at Disney World. You will love seeing all of your favorite characters in their Halloween costumes and the park all done up for the holiday festivities. Make sure to follow the
Official Disney Parks Blog because dates for 2024 should be released soon. Each year they release the dates for the event in the spring and tickets typically go on sale right around 6 months before Halloween.
Last year the event started on August 11th and ran through November 1st! Luckily this gives you most of August, September, and October to don your finest costumes and head over to celebrate a wicked good time. These dates are very similar to the dates the event has run in past years. The only thing that changes from year to year is the exact start date in August. Check out the
costume guidelines before you pack to make sure you bring everything you need to make the most of your spooky celebration. Also, leave a little extra room in your bag for the candy haul you will get while trick-or-treating your way through Magic Kingdom. As an adult, this is one of my favorite parts of the event because it brings back the nostalgia of childhood!
Magic Kingdom will typically close at 6 PM for this event to start but don't forget you can normally get in as early as 4 PM. This gives you a few extra daylight hours to enjoy the theme park or get an early dinner reservation before the party fun begins. Once the party is in full swing make sure you arrive early for Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade to grab a spot for my favorite Disney parade of all time. The music is so much fun that I regularly catch myself singing it! In my opinion, the best place to watch is near the stocks in Liberty Square because you have a little extra room to dance. If you are catching the late-night parade and heading out of the parks right afterward grab a spot at the beginning of Main Street so you can head straight to the exit when it finishes and beat the crowds to the monorail.
Happy Haunts
