Can I use the monorail or boat to go to Polynesian Resort for dinner and fireworks if im not visiting magic kingdom that day ?

    Aloha friend!

Welcome to planDisney, and I'm happy to help with your question. Whether you are planning to dine at 'Ohana or Kona Cafe, you can't go wrong with this terrific plan. These Walt Disney World dining locations are two of my very favorite, and my kids beg for a visit to 'Ohana every trip. We just ate there a few days ago, and my son and I are still dreaming of those pork dumplings in chili lime sauce. Savory perfection!

Let's talk about getting to the Polynesian Resort for your dining reservation. You've got a couple of options:

    1. Guests with dining reservations at Disney Resort Hotels receive complimentary parking at the resort while dining. Note you'll need to show proof of your dining reservation at the guard gate.

    2. If you are staying at a Disney resort, you can use free Disney Transportation to get there. Starting from your resort, just hop on a Disney bus heading for Magic Kingdom. Once you arrive, you can switch to either the "resort loop" monorail or board the water taxi from Magic Kingdom to the Polynesian.

What you describe is such a lovely way to experience an evening of Disney magic... even without a theme park admission for Magic Kingdom. For that very reason, I love kicking off our vacation on arrival night by making advance dining reservations at a location like 'Ohana. I recommend checking the park calendar to find out what time Happily Ever After fireworks will take place on the date you'll be visiting, and hopefully adjust your dining time accordingly. Either enjoy the fireworks through the lovely windows while dining inside 'Ohana, or allow time to finish your dining experience and then stroll down to the beautiful waterfront beach in time for the show. They do play the Happily Ever After soundtrack in either of those locations, so you'll get the full emotional experience by listening along to the amazing music!

I hope this helps with your planning, and answers your question. Please let me know if I can help with any other Disney recommendations to help make your visit special.

    Have a magical day!
    Tami
