Hi Moms, We are visiting the 23rd of April 2012, for 5 days. What kind of crowds should we expect. Also, we saw in the planning video that fantasy land will be undergoing some refurbishing. Can we expect rides to be closed at this time? Thanks

Hi, Alex!  The end of April is usually about when spring break crowds start to slow down, and then there's a bit of a lull until closer to Memorial Day weekend.  I would think that during the time you'll be there, crowds would certainly be manageable.  You might want to check places like TouringPlans.com, where they maintain a crowd level calendar, based on data they collect and historical information.  If there are any special dining experiences you don't want to miss, I would still encourage you to make advanced dining reservations to make sure you don't miss an experience!

There are several things that will be undergoing refurbishment while you are at Walt Disney World.  With the Fantasyland construction, some of the character meet and greets have been moved around.  Your best bet to make sure you see your favorite characters is to check the daily schedule available at the theme park.  This will give you meet and greet times and locations.

Also during your stay, you can expect Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to be undergoing refurbishment.  While there is nothing set in stone with regard to closures and rehabs, you should be okay with pretty much everything else at the Magic Kingdom.

Outside the Magic Kingdom, you may experience closures at Test Track and  Innoventions,

Have a great visit to Walt Disney World!
