Hi Moms--we are bringing our kids (3 & 9 y/o) to WDW in Aug. staying at PO-R resort w/ park hopper passes and intend to try to see a little of everything. How easy is it to get from resort to parks via bus/rail? How much time should we allot each day?

    Hi Jennifer,

I bet the kids are so excited. Port Orleans is a great resort and you will love your time spent there. Great idea to add the park hoppers, they will give your family the ability to move around from one park to another if the crowds increase or your interests change throughout the day.

Our family loves utilizing the Disney transportation system and find it a reliable and stress-free way to move around Disney property. The buses operate on average every twenty minutes from the resorts and parks and most of the rides take between fifteen to twenty five minutes. As my rule, I like to allow one hour to wait for a bus and get to our destination. It almost never takes that long but this gives me a little room in case of an unforseen circumstance like missing a bus or loading a wheelchair.

The buses, boats and monorails are very easy to use and can be found at the entrance to all of the parks as well as the main building for each of the resorts. Cast Members at your resort will be able to help with any questions you may have regarding your bus stops and the Disney Cast Members on the boats, buses and monorails will be happy to help with any concerns you may have.

    Have an amazing time!
