Hi Moms, Our family is going to WDW. We want to do the Dining Plan. We have a son who is 10. The Dining Plan says I have to purchase a 10+ plan for him. He will not eat anything from the adult menu. Is it possible to get him the 3-9 age plan?

Hi Jane! My son is eleven, and while he loves that Disney considers him an "adult," he sure has no interest in the food on the adult menu. The pricing for the Disney Dining Plan is based on age, so unfortunately you cannot purchase the children's Dining Plan for your son; since's he's 10, he'll have to buy the adult Plan. However, he's welcome to order from the children's menus if he wishes. My son often orders from the kids' menus, and some restaurants even bring him an adult-sized portion of the kiddie foods. Of course, using an adult Dining Plan to order children's meals is not the most cost-effective use of those Dining Plan credits since the food on the children's menu is much cheaper than that on the adult menu. For this reason some people choose to pay out-of-pocket for their tween's kiddie meals and save the adult Dining Plan credits for use by another family member at another meal.
