Welcome Aboard, Lynn!
How exciting that you will be cruising on the Disney Magic in March. Our very first cruise was on the Magic, and it is still my favorite ship. Now, with the reimagine, it is even better!
With the addition of MARVEL's Avengers Academy, you might find that both of your sons will want to hang out in the
Oceaneer Club on the Disney Magic, at least some of the time. Your oldest son is definitely the perfect age for the
Edge tween club, so I would encourage him to check it out. As far as your younger son, you might want to have him try the Oceaneer Club and Lab at first to see how he likes it. Since he is close to being the age for Edge, you can always talk to the Youth Counselors there to find out if it is possible to let him into Edge.Their decision is usually based on the number of children aboard and the ages of the children on the ship.
Another avenue to consider is meeting new friends prior to cruising. There are a couple of great websites where I have had good luck finding others cruising on our same cruise. My daughters have both made friends prior to cruising, and then had a new friend to hang out with once we were onboard. One of my favorite sites is DISboards.com. If you go to the "Disney Cruise Line Forum" tab and then to "Disney Cruise Meets", you can search by your Disney Ship and sailing date. By meeting friends before our cruises, my daughters had an option other than to just stay together on the ship, which they enjoyed.
I hope you have a MAGICal cruise! If you are daring, take a plunge on the
AquaDunk, it's fantastic!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
