Hi, Moms! I’m looking into a February trip from the UK. I am interested to know about the seasonal closures and refurbishments that I understand may be happening, especially for the water parks. Will the water parks be open and weather suitable?

Hello there, Becky! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and asking another wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

Walt Disney World Resort is an incredibly popular destination for Guests around the world! Based on the number of Guests seen each year, it's easy to imagine the level of care that needs to be given to each and every attraction on property. So, based on when you travel, you may end up visiting during a time in which certain attractions are undergoing refurbishments. Fortunately, Walt Disney World Resort is quite proactive with their scheduling and tend to post which attractions will be closed as early as possible!

Currently, it looks as though Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom and Test Track at Epcot are the only two major attractions that will be undergoing refurbishments during early 2020. In addition, the entirety of Disney's Typhoon Lagoon will be closed from January 2020 until March 2020 for park-wide refurbishments. However, you and your family will be able to experience all of the aquatic fun found at Disney's Blizzard Beach during your stay! In my experience, there may be select days in which the weather is warm enough to visit the water parks during the Spring so this may be the case during your own visit!

Have fun continuing to plan for your 2020 vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!
