Hello moms!, I am taking my 16 month old daughter and my husband to Disney. I was wondering a few things. Firstly, is the food package worth it especially with her being so young, also is there a lot that she can do to enjoy her time there? Thanks girls!

    Angela,

The good news is that you don't need to get the dining plan for your daughter. Children under 3 don't have to pay. So if you are at a buffet, she can eat off of your plate, no charge. It is encouraged!

Now if you are at any other kind of restaurant you can just order whatever you think you need to get for her. And since you never paid for a plan for her, you only buy what she will need, not what is on one plan or another. Do make sure that when you make a reservation you still ask for a table for 3, even though she is under 3. That way they get you the right size table. Don't worry about being charged too much, just let them know one of you is under 3 and they will account for that.

As for things to do there, I think you will find that she really enjoys herself. I am not saying you should send her solo on Space Mountain, but I bet she will find the theming, the electric energy that abounds, and all the rides to be very fun!

As for characters, ease into that. Some kids at that age are not so crazy about large cartoonish characters. Let her see them from a distance first. Gauge her reaction. Also consider that kids often will be more comfortable with characters that are people in makeup, as opposed to ones with over sized 'mask' faces.

Write me back if I can help more!

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
