Hi moms! I am bringing my 6 year old to Disney and wanted to know if I am going to need a stroller? Last time we came was 2 years ago and he slept on and off all day and we really needed it, but he was only 4. I am thinking he's to old for it now?

    Giuliana,

We made the break last year, when our daughters were 5 and 7. In all previous trips we used our side-by-side stroller, so we were nervous to lose both the ability to put them in there during long walks, as well as the convenience of having somewhere to put our stuff, like the backpack and bottles of water.

We could not have been more pleased with the results. The girls were more engaged in what we did in the park, since they were walking around and not riding. They never complained one time, and we did not find them to be notably more tired from the extra walking. If anything, I think it made for our best trip yet, and I think they just got more out of it.

BOTTOM LINE: I would say that at 6 he is probably ready to try without the stroller. And if late in the trip you think he might need one, you can always rent one from Disney for a day or two.

If you are concerned he might tire easily, do what we do. Take him for some evening walks leading up to the trip to build up a bit of endurance.

    Have a magical vacation!
