Hi Moms/Dads, love your advice I have read now I have a Quest. Staying at POFQ in Feb & my mom hurt her leg & I want to rent her a EVC from outside disney, is it going to be hard to get it on the buses as that will be how we are going to the park.

Hi Rose Marie, I'm sorry to hear about your Mom's injury, but that shouldn't stop you from having a fabulous time at Walt Disney World. Many guests do rent ECVs from outside companies. In some respects this is easier than renting from Disney. The Disney scooters can only be obtained and used in the parks. The vast majority of independent scooter rental companies will drop the ECV at your hotel on the day of your arrival and pick it up when you depart. You can use the rental scooters in the parks, at the resorts, and at venues such as Downtown Disney. While I have not personally had experience with any particular rental company, I have seen a great number of scooters in the parks obtained through buenavistascooters.com. All of the Walt Disney Work resort and park transportation buses are fully handicap accessible. They are equipped with ramps to allow boarding of ECVs and wheelchairs. They also have safety equipment on board to assure that wheeled medical conveyances are secure during movement. The only possible issue your mom might have is if she is an inexperienced ECV driver. I have seen some guests struggle with lining their vehicle up with the bus ramp. Just have your mom practice a bit and she should be fine. Good luck with your planning and please let us know if we can be of additional help.
