    Hi! My mom and I are going on the Treasure's maiden voyage later this year and she was wondering what the restrictions are for putting stuff on the door of our room, if it had to be flat against the door or not. Thank you Tamara A January

    How exciting to be on the maiden voyage of Disney Treasure! You and your mom are in for an amazing adventure! There will be so many special moments during your cruise that you will treasure for a lifetime. 

    Decorating stateroom doors is a wonderful tradition for Disney Cruise Line Guests. It sounds like your mom has some great ideas for your door, so let’s chat about the requirements for decorations. You may decorate your door using magnets. Any other adhesive is prohibited. Over-the-door hangers are also prohibited. I checked with a Disney Cruise Line Cast Member specifically about your question as to whether decorations must be flat against the door and learned that decorations should not obstruct the door itself or the hallway. Her suggestion was nothing thicker than 2 inches. Also, remember that items requiring plugs or lights with plugs are prohibited, but battery-powered lights are allowed. Hopefully, that helps your mom dream up something spectacular! Remember, the gift shops onboard will more than likely sell special door decorations.

    What are you most excited to experience on the Disney Treasure, Tamara? I can't wait to experience how Disney Cruise Line interprets some of my favorite attractions like The Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise!
