Hi Brandi! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
I hope the weather is b-e-a-utiful when you and your mother venture to
Walt Disney World Resort in a few weeks! I'm also heading down to The Most Magical Place on Earth around this time and even though it's only October, Massachusetts has been chilly, so I'm ready for some sunshine!
Whether you and your mom are planning to stop by the tail end of the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival or you're just excited to deck the halls at one of the first
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party nights, Disney has got you covered when it comes to renting a wheelchair or an Electronic Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) also known as a scooter.
With over 40 square miles of Resort to explore, even those of us who haven't recently had surgery could use a good break sometimes! Walt Disney World Resort does offer
ECV rentals on a day-by-day basis within the four Theme Parks, two Water Parks, and the shopping, dining, and entertainment district of
Disney Springs. You'll find that these scooters are available on a first come, first serve basis throughout the day, and paying once is all it takes to have use of an ECV all day, no matter the location, as long as there are some available. Walt Disney World ECVs may not be removed from the location in which they were rented but you will be able to show your receipt from one Park to simply pick up another rental at a second location at no extra charge.
If you're worried about ECVs being completely rented out by the time you arrive for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or you think Mom might also like to use one outside of the Parks, you may want to look into renting from Disney's Featured Provider, ScooterBug. When renting from ScooterBug you won't even need to be present at your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel for the drop-off or pick-up of your vehicle as Cast Members will help take care of the delivery!
I hope you and your mom have a magical and memorable time at Walt Disney World Resort, Brandi!
