Hi, My mom is retiring this year and my brother and I think it would be cool to take her to Disney world. She wouldn't like theme parks. Any ideas ?

Hi Hector! What a lucky mom you and your brother have! You'll be making her retirement even that much more exciting! There is so much to do at Disney World without even setting foot in one of the four theme parks. Now, that being said, you might want to consider visiting Epcot. A stroll through World Showcase is the most enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. There are so many fantastic dining and shopping experiences, she won't want to leave! Here are a few other ideas:

    - Treat your mom to a spa day at one of the several Disney Resorts with spa facilities. Relaxing, and the perfect way to celebrate a career!
    - Head to Downtown Disney for the day. So much to do - great restaurants, shopping and more! You can even rent a boat and cruise the Sassagoula RIver. After dinner, take in Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba.
    - Dinner at the Boardwalk.
    - Is your mom a golfer? There are fantastic golf courses to choose from. If not, maybe try one of the mini golf courses. Serious fun!
    - Head to Fort Wilderness and take the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure, where you'll explore on your own Segways! I did it and highly recommend it!
    - There are so many fantastic dining spots to enjoy. A celebratory dinner at the Contemporary Resort's California Grill, complete with a spectacular view of the fireworks, would be a perfect spot to toast your mom!

Hope these ideas help Hector! Write back with any other questions!
