Hello Mom Panel, We are going to Disney with 3 children ages 5,3 and 3. It's their first time at Disney. Do you have any tips for this age group? thanks, Excited for Disney

    Lee-Ann,

Boy, have you come to the right place!

You are not going to get all the answers in this one reply, but maybe it will spark follow-up questions you can ask to me or others. I have been with my now 5 and 7 year olds for the last three years, and here are things I have learned that saved the trip!

Quiet time, every day. We go back to our resort EVERY day for nap time and pool time. With my oldest, who won't nap anymore, it is quiet time, on the bed, reading. Lights are down. No TV. This daily battery re-charge does not just save the day, but the whole week. I cannot stress enough how essential this is to family harmony.

Pace Yourself. You will NOT see everything. That is a fact. So instead of rushing to try, have an idea of a few "Must Do!" attractions & shows, and hit those first. Everything else is gravy after that.

Don't overeat. In planning a lot of people schedule two or even three table service meals for every day. That is WAY more food than a 3 or even 5 year old can eat. Plan one per day, tops. It makes those stops more special, keeps your budget within reason, and you spend less time at a table and more at attractions.

Plan every day. Know ahead of time where you are going every day. This takes a lot of pressure off you when you are there.

I would love to offer you more, but I can only type so much into one answer. Write me back and let me know about where you are staying, who is in your party, when you are coming, etc. and I can offer more specific advice. I would love to recommend some age-appropriate dining, a plan for an adults-night-out while the kids enjoy a Child Activity Center (it is your vacation too, after all!), and some other ideas.

    Have a magical vacation!
