Hi Mom Panel! How do you get to be the first family aboard the ship?

Welcome back, Johanna! So, you've heard about the first magical moment of setting sail with Disney, it sounds like! It is true that Cast Members will choose one family as the Family of the Day in the port terminal. That family has the special privilege of being the first to board the ship.

No one is really sure how that family is chosen each time. There is no special "recipe" to be chosen that I know of. But, of course, it is always one of the families that is in the terminal early in the day, as they must be chosen and ready to board before others. All I can say is show up early and have a happy, smiling family (that won't be hard since you're about to set sail!), and you never know what might happen!

But, the good news is, even if your family isn't chosen as Family of the Day, you'll soon be boarding, you'll have smiles on your face anyway, and your vacation will be about to begin! Before you know it, you'll be walking into the atrium lobby of the ship as the Cast Members announce your family name and applaud your arrival! Short of being chosen as Family of the Day, there is no better way to begin what is sure to be a magical cruise with Captain Mickey and his crew!

Have fun planning, Johanna, and enjoy every single moment onboard!
